Yoshi's Woolly World Wii U Gamestop

Wii U

Feb 01, 2017  When I reviewed Yoshi’s Woolly World on Wii U on June 22, 2015, I gave it a 7.4, which is the mark of a good game. Here’s what I said then: There’s a handful of really great levels in Yoshi.

Set off with a friend* through a wild, woolly world in this grand Yoshi™ adventure! A treasure trove of clever handicraft stages are ready for you to explore. Unravel their secrets and color your world with a spectrum of yarn balls to knit new paths and get every last collectible.

Knitting yarn, patchwork, and other handicraft materials combine into a whimsical and crafty backdrop for our knit Yoshi to explore. Instead of eggs, this time Yoshi tosses yarn balls that he can use to clear blocked paths, tangle-up enemies, or even knit together platforms and warp pipes. Yoshi can also tug at stray yarn to unravel walls and reveal hard-to-reach areas filled with hidden collectibles. Tackle challenges in local 2-Player co-op by partnering up with a friend. Gobble 'em up and spit 'em out to reach new heights or take out craftwork creepers like paratroopas, piranha plants and shy guys! It's time to get crafty.

  • Toss yarn balls to knit together background elements or tie-up enemies
  • Unravel puzzles and walls to discover hidden areas and collectables
  • Explore each crafty stage to discover new surprises—there's no time limit
  • Discover and explore new areas in 2-player cooperative multiplayer (additional accessories required for multiplayer mode; sold separately)
  • Mellow Mode gives Yoshi™ wings so everyone can enjoy

*Additional accessories required for multiplayer; sold separately.

Description

Yoshi's Woolly World is a unique platformer for Wii U where a woollen Yoshi explores levels that really look like they've been made by hand.

Yoshi has a wide range of wool-based moves to use throughout this grand yarn. The woolly wanderer can throw knitted eggs, grow in size, and use different transformations to overcome obstacles and reach new areas.
Work together with another player to reach the end of the level in the multiplayer mode. As one person
controls his or her Yoshi with the Wii U GamePad, a second player can use a Wii Remote to control their own Yoshi. The colourful characters can use their tongues to swallow the other player and spit them out, so you can work together to clear the stage, or just have fun getting in each other's way!

Yoshi's Woolly World is a collaboration between Nintendo and Good-Feel, who also developed Kirby's Epic Yarn for Wii.

  • Players tangle, pull and stitch yarn to explore Yoshi's world in creative new ways.
  • Yoshi has never been more adorable than as a toy knit from yarn. His entire environment is made from materials like felt, yarn,

cloth and cotton, creating a gorgeous HD world that looks good enough to touch.

  • Instead of eggs, Yoshi tosses yarn balls at enemies. He can incapacitate a Piranha Plant by muzzling it with a piece of colored string. Or he can even use the yarn to knit together background elements.
  • Gobble friends and turn them into eggs. Then toss them into hard-to-reach heights and secret depths to discover in two-player cooperative play.
  • The game is co-developed by Good-Feel, the developer that created Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Nintendo Co., Ltd under the supervision of Takashi Tezuka, producer of Yoshi's Story and the Yoshi's Island series.
